Balsam is a fragrant resin that can be obtained from various different plants.

Use of Balsam
Balsam was used on different occasions:
- when anointing
objects in the tabernacle (Exodus 30:22-33 ); - when making perfume
(Song of Songs 4:10 ; Isaiah 3:24 ); - as a beauty treatment (Esther 2:12
); - as perfumed oils to prepare a body for burial (2 Chronicles 16:14
; John 19:40 ).
