Muzzle

A muzzle was made of rope or leather straps loosely tied together. The muzzle was fitted over the mouth of an animal to prevent it from biting or eating during its work.

But in Deuteronomy 25:4 it says that an ox must not be muzzled while it is threshing grain. The animal had to be able to eat while threshing.
