Cedar

The cedar is a tree from the mountain region of Lebanon. It is not clear whether this referred to one specific type of tree or different types of wood.

Use of Cedar Wood

Cedar was used throughout the entire ancient Near East for building palaces and temples. Interesting to note is the use of cedar wood in certain purification rituals (see Leviticus 14:1-9; Leviticus 14:48-53).
