Sabbath

The Sabbath is the Jewish weekly day of rest. On this seventh day (the Saturday), no one is allowed to work. It is a day dedicated to God. From the time of the Babylonian exile the Sabbath, with circumcision, has become the symbol of the covenant between God and Israel. It distinguishes Israel from the other people.
