Our God will come
1The dry desert will be happy and rejoice.
A lot of flowers will grow in the desert.
2There will be flowers everywhere,
and the desert will rejoice.
Yes, the desert will sing.
It will be as beautiful as Mount Lebanon
or as Mount Carmel and the Sharon Valley.
Everyone will see that the Lord is King.
They will see that our God is coming,
and they will see the light of his glory.
3There are people who are discouraged,
and their hands and knees are not strong,
but you must help and encourage them.
4Tell those people who are discouraged:
‘You must be strong. Do not be afraid.
Look, your God will come.
He will come to punish all your enemies
because they have done bad things to you.
Your God will come to save you.’
5Then the blind people will see
and deaf people will hear.
6The cripple people will be able to walk,
and they will jump like a deer,
and mute people will talk and sing,
because there will be fountains in the desert
and rivers full of water.
7Land that has dried up in the sun
will be full of water.
There will be fountains
where no water was before.
Grass, reeds and water plants
will grow where foxes lived before.
God will make a holy road
8There will be a road, and
people will name the road ‘Holy Road.’
Impure people and fools
will not walk on this road.
Only people who live in the right way will walk there.
9Lions and other wild animals
will not walk on that road.
The Lord has saved some people,
and only they will walk on that road.
10The Lord has saved his people
and made them free,
and they will sing when they come into Zion.
They will rejoice and be happy.
They will not suffer or cry anymore.
