1Praise the Lord.
Sing a new song to the Lord
and praise Him
where all his people are together,
those who believe in Him.
2Let the Israelites rejoice because
God is the One who made them,
and let the people of Zion be happy
because the Lord is their King.
3Let them praise his name with dancing,
and let them make music for Him
with tambourines and lyres.
4Because the Lord loves his people.
He blesses and honours the humble people,
those who can not help themselves,
and He saves them.
5Let the people who worship Him
rejoice in his glory.
Let them sing and rejoice
because they know Him,
even when they lie down on their beds.
6Let them shout and praise Him
while they hold
their sharp swords in their hands
7so that they can defeat the Gentiles
and punish the nations
for what they did to them.
8They must tie the Gentile kings with chains
and their important leaders
with ropes and irons.
9They must punish their kings
as God, the Judge, has written.
The nations will honour God
and respect the people who worship Him.
You must praise the Lord.
