I will thank God for what He has done
1You must thank God, because He is good,
and his love for us will never end.
2Let all the Israelites say:
‘Yes, his love for us will never end.’
3Let the family of Aaron say:
‘Yes, his love for us will never end.’
4Let all the people who respect
and serve the Lord say:
‘Yes, his love for us will never end.’
5When I had a lot of trouble,
I prayed to the Lord and asked Him to help me.
The Lord answered me and He set me free.
6The Lord is with me,
and I will not be afraid.
Other people can do nothing bad to me.
7The Lord is with me, and He helps me.
I will defeat the people who hate me.
8It is better to trust in the Lord
than to ask other people to help you.
9It is better to trust in the Lord
than to ask princes to protect you.
10When all the Gentile nations
around me wanted to attack me,
I cut them off and defeated them
because the Lord helped me.
11They attacked me from all sides
but I defeated them
because the Lord was with me.
12They attacked me like bees,
but they died as quickly as the flames
that go out when thorns burn out.
I chased them back
because the Lord helped me.
13They attacked me and I almost lost
and fell to the ground,
but the Lord helped me.
14The Lord made me strong
and He gave me a song to sing.
He is my Saviour who helps me
defeat my enemies.
15The people who live in the right way
are singing in their homes.
They sing and say:
‘The Lord has done wonderful things
and He has made us win.’
16The Lord has lifted his hand up high.
He has done wonderful things
and defeated our enemies.
17I will not die now.
I will live and tell about all the things
that God has done.
18The Lord has rebuked
and punished me a lot
but He did not cause me to die.
19Open the gates for me,
the gates where the Lord is Judge.
I want to go through the gates
and thank the Lord.
20These are the gates of the Lord,
and only righteous people may go through them.
21I want to thank You, O Lord,
because You answered my prayer,
and You saved me.
22The stone that the builders
did not want to use
has become the most important stone
in the building, the corner-stone.
23This is what the Lord has done
and it is wonderful for us, a miracle.
24This is the day that the Lord has made.
We must rejoice and be happy about it.
25O Lord, we pray that You will save us.
Please let us succeed.
26We pray that the Lord will bless
the one who comes
because the Lord has sent him.
We who are in the temple of the Lord
pray that God will bless you.
27The Lord is God.
He made his light shine upon us.
You must start to celebrate the feast of the Lord.
Take branches and come
to the horns_of_the_altar.
28You are my God, and I want to thank You.
I want to praise You.
29You must thank the Lord
because He is good,
and his love for you will never end.
It will continue forever.
