This song is a Psalm for the Sabbath day.
1It is good to thank You, O Lord,
to sing and praise your name,
the name of the Most High God.
2It is good to talk about your love
that never changes in the morning,
and to say that You are faithful every night.
3I will sing with the harp,
and I will play music with the lyre.
4Because You, O Lord,
have made me happy.
I rejoice when I look at all
the wonderful things that You have made.
5Lord, the things that
You have done are great,
and the things that You think about
are too difficult for us to understand.
6Stupid people don't know
what You have done.
Fools don't understand
7that sinful people grow like grass
and bad people become rich,
but God will destroy them forever.
8But You will rule forever, Lord.
9Yes, Lord, I know that
your enemies will be destroyed,
and they will all disappear.
You will chase them away and they will run.
10But You have made us as strong as oxen.
You poured the best olive oil over me
and made me celebrate.
11I saw how my enemies fell to the ground,
and I heard them cry,
those bad people who were against me.
12But good and righteous people
grow like strong palm trees.
They are like a cedar tree
that grows high on Mount Lebanon.
13The good people are like trees
that grow at the temple.
They grow strong
in the courtyard of our God.
14They give fruit even when they are old.
They are strong and always green.
15They will always say that the Lord is good.
He is my Rock.
He never does anything that is wrong.
