*Psalms 142

₁I cry and ask the Lord to help me.

I pray that God will have mercy on me.

₂I tell Him about my troubles

and I complain to Him.

₃When I am afraid and discouraged,

You are the One who knows

what will happen to me.

You know about the traps

that my enemies have set for me.

₄When I look for someone

to help me, I see no one.

No one cares about me,

and there is no place where I can flee.

₅Lord, I pray to You. Please help me.

You are the only One who can protect me.

I have only You in this_life.

₆Please listen when I pray

because I am very weak,

and I can not help myself.

Please save me from the people

who persecute me.

They are too strong for me.

₇Please save me out of prison

so that I can thank You.

Then righteous people will come

and stand around me

because You have been good to me.
