*Psalms 43

₁O God, please show that I am innocent.

Help me and defend me

against sinners

who don't belong to You.

Please save me from people

who tell lies and are dishonest.

₂You are my God, and I come to You

to protect me.

Why have You thrown me away

and forgotten me?

Why do my enemies make me

suffer and I become sad and mourn?

₃Please send your light

and truth to me,

and let them lead me back

to your holy_mountain and temple.

₄Then I will go to the altar of God,

to God who makes me happy

and makes me rejoice.

I will praise You with the lyre,

O God my God.

₅I ask myself: ‘Why am I so sad?

Why am I so upset?’

I must trust in God and believe

that He will help me. Yes,

I will sing a song and praise Him again.

He is my God and my Saviour.
