Spear

A spear or a lance was designed for thrusting at the opponent. It was 5 to 6 feet (about 1,5-1,8 m) long and consisted of a long wooden shaft with a broad metal head. The bottom end of the shaft often also had a metal point used to stick the spear in the ground.
