War and peace

This reading plan was developed by the Dutch-Flemish Bible Society.

There is war in Ukraine! It dominates the news and it dominates our thoughts. “What are the costs of war and how precious is peace?” Just as our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Ukraine, you may wonder: “What does the Bible say about war? How does God perceive war and violence?”

This is a seven-day reading plan. You will read Bible texts that take on an important meaning in times of war, and also Bible texts in which God deals with war and promises a peaceful future.
