Galatians 6:2GNBOpen in Bible reader

Matthew 25

Matthew 25:40GNBOpen in Bible reader

At a gymnastics competition in China, young children have to run and jump over an obstacle. At one of the competitions, a little boy struggled to get over the obstacle. In a video on social media (see link below), one can see how he wipes away tears as he walks back to the point where he has to start running.

Then, just before the boy starts running again, his teammates sitting on the side of the track get up and run towards him. They form a small circle around him, shout something that sounds like a creed and then sit down again. After this, the boy runs and successfully jumps over the obstacle.

There is value in supporting each other. In Galatians 6:2 we read: “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ.” (NIV) Also in Matthew 25:40 we read: “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (NIV)

We experience God tangibly when people support us in our difficult seasons. Similarly, we as believers have an opportunity to be Jesus Christ’s hands and feet on earth when we demonstrate his goodness and greatness to the least among us. God bless.

Prayer: Father God, thank you very much for demonstrating your love to me through the people around me. Help me today to spot people who need my support. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
