Bible text(s)

Luke 10

19Listen! I have given you authority, so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the Enemy, and nothing will hurt you.

Luke 10:19GNBOpen in Bible reader

Proverbs 3

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. 6Remember the LORD in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.

Proverbs 3:5-6GNBOpen in Bible reader

3886,20 meters barefoot over Lego blocks. This is the new world record set by American Kevin Strahle earlier this month. Why he did it only he would know, as anyone who has accidentally stepped barefoot on one of these sharp blocks, will testify of the pain it causes.

From time to time, in our lives, we too experience “sharp-edged blocks” in our paths. It comes in the form of challenges in our marriage, workplace, finances or even our health. The enemy puts it there to break our speed or to discourage us. Yet, God is able to either lead us around them or He strengthens us to walk over them, like what Kevin did, without them hurting us.

In Luke 10:19 Jesus says, “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Also in Proverbs 3: 5-6 we read: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

What challenges are you facing today in your life? Let us trust God to strengthen us to trample on snakes, scorpions, and “sharp-edged blocks”. After all, He fills us with power when we need it most. God bless.

Prayer: Father God, thank you so much for enabling me to rule over challenges in my life. Strengthen me today and fill me anew with strength and strategies. I ask this in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen
