₁₈“I hear the people of Israel say in grief,

‘LORD, we were like an untamed animal,

but you taught us to obey.

Bring us back;

we are ready to return to you,

the LORD our God.

₃but now I say to you, ‘Return to me, and I will return to you.

₁₅“The right time has come,” he said, “and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!”

Repentance is a serious change of mind leading to a change of direction. It means turning away from your old self and walking in the ways of Jesus.
