Break Out – Day 15
Break out and trust God is in control
Bible text(s)
2 Corinthians 12
After the piece about God’s financial provision for a family in need, several readers shared, via e-mails, their challenges with regards to their health, marriage, challenges in the workplace, financial pressure and many others. Do you also struggle with such a challenge today?
In the movie, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, an actor in one scene said: “Everything will be all right in the end. If it is not all right, it is not the end.” Author, Jerry Bridges echoes this when he writes: “Your worst days are never so bad that it falls beyond the grace of God. Your best days are never so good that God’s grace is unnecessary.”
God knows exactly where he is heading with your life. No crisis ever comes as a surprise to him. If you are facing a storm today that doesn’t want to go away, know that God is working behind the scenes. After every storm, the sun always shines again.
Paul understood this. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, he asked God to remove the “thorn in his flesh”. God said: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” Paul replied: “Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
Does a challenge threaten to overwhelm you today? Remember, it does not fall beyond the grace of God. Let us turn to him. It is at the moment when we have a face-to-face encounter with our Creator, that we become aware of his greatness and power, and ability to work out everything for our good. Remember, if things are not all right, it is not the end.
