The Lamb may open the scroll
1I saw that the Person sitting on the throne had a scroll in his right hand. There were a lot of words written on the scroll, inside and outside. The scroll was sealed with 7 seals. 2I saw a strong angel. He shouted_loudly and said: ‘Who may open the scroll? Who may break the seals on the scroll and open the book?’
3But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or look into it. 4I cried and cried because no one was able to open the scroll or look into it. 5But one of the elders told me: ‘Don't cry, look: The Lion from the Judah tribe, the Son of David, has defeated all his enemies. That is why He can break the 7 seals and open the scroll.’
6Then I saw a Lamb. The Lamb was standing at the throne among the 4 living_beings and the elders. It looked as if the Lamb had been killed. He had 7 horns and 7 eyes. The 7 eyes are the 7 Spirits of God. God sends Them to all the places on earth. 7The Lamb went and He took the scroll from the right hand of the Person who sat on the throne. 8When the Lamb took the scroll, the 4 living_beings and the 24 elders fell down onto their knees before the Lamb. Each one of them had a harp and golden bowls. The golden bowls were full of incense. The incense is the prayers of the believers. 9Then the 4 living_beings and the elders started to sing this new song to the Lamb. They said:
‘Only You can take the scroll.
You may break the seals
and open the scroll,
because the people killed You.
Yes, You died,
and You bought people for God.
There were people of all tribes, languages,
nations and lands.
10You made them part
of the Kingdom of God.
They are priests who work for God
and they will rule on earth.’
11Then I heard and saw a lot of angels who were singing. The angels were around God's throne and around the 4 living_beings and the elders. There were millions and millions of angels. 12They sang very loudly and said:
‘Everyone must sing to the Lamb
who has died.
They must tell how strong and rich He is
and that He has wisdom and power.
They must honour Him.
They must give glory to Him
and praise Him.’
13Then I heard everything that was alive singing. Everything in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea and everything in it sang these words and said:
‘We praise Him on the throne,
and we praise the Lamb.
We honour and praise You.
You are strong, forever and ever.’
14And the 4 living_beings said: ‘Amen.’
Then the elders fell down onto their knees and prayed to God and to the Lamb.
