Guilt-offerings
1The Lord said to Moses: ‘This is what the priests must do with the guilt-offering. It is most_holy. 2They must kill the animal which is for the guilt-offering at the same place where they kill the animals for the burnt-offerings. 3The priest must sacrifice all the fat from the animal, from the tail and from the inner parts. 4He must also sacrifice the 2 kidneys and the fat on the kidneys and on the lower parts of the back and the fat part of the liver which he takes out with the kidneys. 5The priest must burn all of it on the altar. It is a fire-offering to the Lord and a guilt-offering. 6Any man or boy from the family of the priests may eat the meat of the guilt-offering. They must eat it at a holy place. It is most holy. 7They must do the same with the guilt-offering as with the sin-offering. The priest that makes atonement may take it.
8The priest who sacrifices someone's burnt-offering may take the skin of the animal that he has sacrificed. 9All the grain-offerings that people bake in an oven, or cook in a pan or on a baking plate, belong to the priest who sacrificed it. 10All the other grain-offerings, the grain-offerings that are mixed with olive oil and the grain-offerings that are dry, belong to the priests who are the descendants of Aaron. Any of them may have it.’
The meal-offering
11The Lord said to Moses: ‘This is how someone must bring a meal-offering to the Lord. 12If he sacrifices to thank the Lord, then he must also sacrifice round flat bread with the thank-offering. He must mix the best flour with olive oil and make thin wafers and put olive oil on top of them. 13With the thank-offering which is his meal-offering, he must also sacrifice an offering of round bread that he has baked with yeast. 14He must give a part of everything that he has sacrificed to the Lord as a gift. The priest who sprinkles the blood of the meal-offerings must get this. 15The person who is sacrificing and his family must eat the meat of the thank-offering, which is the meal-offering, on the same day as it is sacrificed. Nothing may be left over until the next day.
16If he sacrifices because he has made a promise to God or because he wants to sacrifice an offering, then they must eat the meat on the day that he has sacrificed it, but if there is meat left over, they must eat it the next day. 17If there is still meat left over on the 3rd day, they must burn it. 18If someone eats that meat on the 3rd day, then the Lord will not accept the offering. It will be the same as if the person did not sacrifice any offering. The Lord will hate it and He will punish the person who eats that meat.
19No one may eat meat that has touched something that is impure. They must burn that meat. Anyone who is pure may eat pure meat. 20If someone is impure and he eats a meal-offering with other people, you must cut him off from his people. 21If someone touches something that is impure, such as an impure person or animal or anything else that the Lord hates, then he may not eat meat that belongs to the Lord. If he does eat the meat of the meal-offering, then you must cut him off from his people.’
The Israelites may not eat fat or blood
22The Lord said to Moses 23to tell the Israelites: ‘You may never eat the fat from an ox, or a sheep or a goat. 24If an animal has died in the field or if a wild animal has killed it, then you may use the fat for your work, but you may never eat fat. 25Yes, you must cut anyone off from his people if he eats the fat of an animal that someone has sacrificed on the altar for the Lord.
26You may also never eat blood wherever you live, not the blood of a bird or animal. 27You must cut off anyone from his people who eats blood.’
The parts that the priests must get
28The Lord said to Moses 29to tell the Israelites: ‘When anyone sacrifices a meal-offering to the Lord, he must give part of the meat to the Lord. 30He must give the fat and the breast of the animal as a move-offering to the Lord. 31The priest must burn the fat on the altar and Aaron and his sons must get the breast. 32You must give the right leg of the meal-offering to the priest to eat. 33The priest who burns the blood and fat of the meal-offering must get the right leg 34because I have taken the breast of the move-offering and the thigh from the Israelites and I have given it to the priest Aaron and his sons. The thigh is a gift. It is part of the meal-offerings and the Israelites must always give it to the priests. 35These are the parts that Aaron and his sons must get from the fire-offerings that people give to the Lord. They must get them from the day that they are consecrated to be priests of the Lord. 36When the Lord anointed the priests, He said the Israelites must give these parts to them.
37This is what you must do with the burnt-offering, the grain-offering, the sin-offering, the guilt-offering, the offering when you consecrate priests and the meal-offering.’
38The Lord said these things to Moses on Mount Sinai in the Sinai Desert. The Lord said this when He told the Israelites to give offerings to Him.
