The story is told of the donkey that fell into a well. After many attempts by the farmer and his helpers to get the donkey, they decided it was hopeless. There was very little oxygen in the well, so when the donkey became silent, the farmer thought the donkey was dead. So, he ordered his men to bury the donkey. But the donkey was still alive! As the men began to throw the soil in the hole, the donkey stood up to shake the dirt off his back. Each time the men threw more soil in, he would shake it off and walk around in circles. By doing this, the donkey slowly climbed higher and higher, until he was able to walk out of the well.
There will always be crises and challenges in your life. How you handle them is up to you. You always have a choice as to how you respond in the midst of a crisis. To have a positive attitude means to handle all your difficulties and challenges positively. With every crisis and challenge in our lives, we are like the donkey in the well with little oxygen. You can decide that the challenge is too tough and too difficult, and you can throw in the towel and let your problems bury you, or you can choose shake off whatever life throws at you and use it to rise and survive! The choice of how you will handle the crisis remains yours!
In Colossians 3:16, God teaches us to seek the Lord in all circumstances and to praise him with songs. If you seek to praise God despite the challenges that life throws at you, God will give you the energy to deal with your challenges and crises positively.
