Do you know the feeling of being madly in love? During the day you have butterflies in your stomach, at night you cannot sleep and when you do fall asleep, you dream of him or her all night long. In the beginning you may have a problem: You don’t know if she knows you are in love with her. You are unsure whether she is in love with you. What now?

There are some timeless tips: Write a letter, call or take a bunch of flowers. But what happens if she doesn’t receive the letter, her cell phone line isn’t working, or the flowers never reach her? A few weeks later she may hear that you were so besotted with her. And you know what she would have said then? “Oh, I wasn’t aware of it. If only he had written or called or came to me!”

Here, we have a similarity with God. God loves you. He wants a relationship with you. So God said: “Let me write.” He wrote a very thick Bible in which he says that he would like to be your friend. But we are more interested in other literature. Then God thought and said: “Let me call.” Every Sunday there is a preacher somewhere who preaches about God. But your mind wanders and you do not hear God’s voice.

Until God decided to rather come himself. Not with a bunch of roses, but through his Son, Jesus Christ. From his side, God does everything. He writes, calls and shows up himself. I hope you read his letter and meditate on it. When he calls, you should respond through prayer. Open the door of your life to him, so that a good relationship could grow between you and God.
