Forgiveness – Day 2

Moses spent a long time with the Lord on Mount Sinai. The people went to Aaron to make them a god, resulting in the golden calf. When Moses came down from the mountain, he became angry and broke the 2 flat stones (32:19).

UMose ubuyela eSinayi.Izibhebhe ezintsha zamatshe

1UJehova wathi kuMose: “Zibazele izibhebhe ezimbili zamatshe njengezokuqala, ngilobe ezibhebheni amazwi ayesezibhebheni zokuqala owazaphulayo. 2Mawube usulungele kusasa, ukhuphukele entabeni yaseSinayi ekuseni, ume khona phambi kwami esiqongweni sentaba. 3Akuyikukhuphuka muntu nawe, kungabonakali muntu entabeni yonke, futhi kungaklabi zimvu nazinkomo ngaphambi kwaleyo ntaba.”

4Wayesebaza izibhebhe ezimbili zamatshe njengezokuqala; uMose wavuka ekuseni kakhulu, wakhuphukela entabeni yaseSinayi, njengalokho uJehova emyalile; waphatha ngesandla sakhe izibhebhe ezimbili zamatshe. 5UJehova wehla ngefu, wema naye lapho, wamemezela igama likaJehova. 6UJehova wadlula phambi kwakhe, wamemeza wathi: “NguJehova! NguJehova! NguNkulunkulu ogcwele isihe, onomusa, ophuza ukuthukuthela, novame ubumnene neqiniso, 7ogcinela abayizinkulungwane umusa, othethelela ububi neziphambeko nezono, ongayikuyekela onecala, ehambela ububi bawoyise kubantwana nakubantwana babantwana, kwabesizukulwane sesithathu nesesine.”

The merciful God

The Lord instructed Moses to cut out 2 flat stones like those He gave him the first time.  The Lord would write the same words on it.  He had to go up to the mountain and wait upon the Lord.

When the Lord came down in a cloud, He spoke loudly to Moses.

God revealed Himself as the merciful God, patient, loving and willing to forgive people but not to forget the sins.
