[Here are some testimonials from our readers over the years.]
Reader 1, Rika: “I’m in the IT-industry. A while ago I suggested we migrate from one service provider to another. This is an intense process and the further we went, the more complicated it got — and the more anxious I became. I prayed about it a lot and one day felt as if God told me: ‘Nothing is too big for Me.’ I immediately walked out of my office and outside, on the porch, in prayer dedicated the project to God. Back in the office I told my colleagues that I know everything will be successful because I gave it into God’s hands. From that day on, I had peace about the project. It still has it challenges, but it is not a thorn to me any longer. My mood has improved so much that my golf handicap lowered! Praise the Lord, for He is all-powerful.”
Reader 2, Shivonn: “Although I have obtained my driver’s license in 2009, I had a tremendous fear of driving. At times I would burst out in tears while on the road. It was so bad that at times I thought I will never overcome this fear. Last month, my husband and I bought a car and I started driving. Today was the first day I drove to work and I feel like a conqueror! I now realise that with God on my side, I can overcome any fear!”
Reader 3, Precious: “Some time ago I desperately started looking for a permanent job with a higher income as I could barely pay my bills with the income I got at my temporary job. As I flipped through the newspaper, I saw a position available in my field with a good salary. I immediately cut out the ad, applied for the position and then pasted the ad against my closet. Every time I saw it, I prayed that God would give me favour so I would get the job.
A few weeks later I suddenly lost my temporary job. I was shocked. A week later, however, I got invited to go for an interview at the company I applied for the job. I was still on my way home after the interview when they phoned me and asked if I would start work that following Monday. I could not stop praising God. Today I know that God directs our steps. If I had not lost my temporary job, it would have been difficult for me to go for the job interview as the two places are far apart from each other. God therefore knew I had to be released from my temporary job before the new chapter in my life could start. All honour to His name!”
Reader 4, Tina: “My husband and I are married for almost 10 years. For 8 years, we struggled to conceive. We prayed a lot, gave up praying, and in the end just forgot about it. I also prayed that God would give me the willpower to quit smoking. Then it happened. I fell pregnant (10 weeks) and at the same time I can no longer stand the smell of tobacco. God did a two-in-one miracle! God is truly faithful. All honour to Him!”
These readers are right. When we are weak, God is strong. In 2 Corinthians 12:9 God says: “My grace is sufficient for you. My strength is made perfect in your weakness.” And in Isaiah 41:10 God also states: “Do not be afraid, I am with you, do not worry, I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My own hand.”
God calms us down when a challenge in the workplace threatens to overwhelm us. He enables us to overcome a fear that repeatedly leave us in tears. He sometimes closes one door so that He can open a much better one for us and even though we sometimes wait nearly a decade for an answer to our prayers, we must not lose faith for God’s timing is always perfect! God bless.
