In the movie Awakenings, Robin Williams says, ‘The human spirit is more powerful than any drug and that is what needs to be nourished: with work, play, friendship and family.’

When we think of the human spirit, we are amazed, but how much more amazed can we be when taking on the Spirit of God? We are, this day, offered the power of being awakened to a beautiful experience. Let the God-Spirit speak.

Isaiah knew that the people of Zion were in captivity.

They were allowing themselves to be captured by that which drains, that which strangles life. To these people, Isaiah says: ‘Awake, awake, put on your strength, put on the beautiful garments of God.’ This is far more important than allowing yourself to be strangled by what  is not of God.
