My Lord, please protect me
Tell the leader of the choir to play this song with musical_instruments that have strings. This is a song that David sang when the Ziphite people told King Saul that David was hiding among them.
1O God, please save me
because You are my God.
You are strong, and You can do anything.
Please show everyone that I am innocent.
2O God, please listen to my prayer
and do what I ask You.
3Strangers are coming to attack me,
and proud people who are cruel
want to kill me.
They are sinful people who don't care
about God and don't want to obey Him. Selah
4But they must know that God
is the One who will help me.
The Lord will protect me
and save my life.
5He will punish my enemies,
the people who wanted to punish me.
Faithful God, please destroy them
and make them silent forever.
6I will sacrifice a special gift to You.
I will give an offering
even if You have not told me to do it.
I will thank You, Lord,
because You are good.
7Because You have saved me
from all my trouble and You have
defeated all my enemies.
