The Lord will be with you
This is a Psalm of David.
1The Lord said to my Lord:
‘Sit down here next to Me
at the most important place,
until I have defeated
and humiliated all your enemies.
They will come and lie down in front of You
and You can put your feet on them.’
2The Lord is in Zion.
He will make you a strong
and important king. He said:
‘You must rule over all your enemies.’
3Your people will come
and give themselves to fight
when you want to go to war,
and they will wear holy clothes.
Your young men will be
like the dew in the morning.
4The Lord has promised and
He will never change this promise.
He said: ‘You will always be
a priest like Melchizedek.’
5The Lord will be next to you to help you.
He will defeat the other kings
when He becomes angry.
6He will judge all the nations.
He will fill the earth with bodies
of dead people,
and He will destroy leaders over the world.
7The king will drink water
from the stream next to the road,
and he will defeat his enemies.
