I will praise the Lord
This is a Psalm of David.
1I will praise the Lord.
I want to praise his holy name
with all my heart.
2I will praise the Lord with everything in my life.
I don't want to forget any
of the wonderful things that He has done.
3He is the One who forgives
all my sins and heals all my diseases.
4He is the One who saves my life
so that I don't go to the grave,
and who gives me his love and
his mercy that never change.
5He is the One who is very good to me,
and who makes me strong
and young again, like an eagle.
6The Lord does what is right and fair
to people who suffer and are oppressed.
7He told Moses what He wanted,
and He showed the Israelites
what He could do.
8The Lord is full of mercy and grace.
He is patient and does not become angry quickly.
His love for us will never change.
9He will not always accuse us
or stay angry with us.
10He does not punish us
for all the sins that we have done,
and He does not punish us as He should
for the things that we have done wrong.
11Yes, as high as heaven is above the earth,
that is how great the love of the Lord is
for the people who fear Him,
and his love for us will never change.
12As far as the east is from the west,
that is how far the Lord
takes away our sins from us.
13As a father is good to his children,
that is how the Lord is good and shows
his mercy to the people who fear Him.
14Because He knows us,
He knows how we were made,
and He knows that we are only dust.
15A person does not live for a long time,
and his life is like grass.
It grows like a wild flower,
16but when the wind blows over it,
it dies and disappears and
no one knows where it was.
17But the love of the Lord never stops.
It continues forever for the people
who worship and serve Him,
and He is good to their children
and their grandchildren.
18He does what is right for everyone
who obeys his covenant and does
what He says in his commandments.
19The throne of the Lord is in heaven.
He is King of everything and everyone.
20Angels of the Lord,
you must praise the Lord,
you who are strong and do what God says.
21All the armies in heaven,
you are his servants who do
what the Lord wants, and you must praise Him.
22Everything and everyone
that the Lord has made,
you must praise the Lord
in all the places where He is King.
I also want to praise the Lord.
