2 *Chronicles 4
Solomon makes everything in the temple
1Solomon made a bronze_altar. The altar was 20 cubits long, 20 cubits wide and 10 cubits high. 2He also made a water-tank. The water-tank was round and it was 10 cubits from one side to the other side. It was 5 cubits high and it was 30 cubits round. 3Under the water-tank were images of bulls. There were 10 bulls in each cubit. The bulls were in 2 rows and they were also made of bronze, like the water-tank. 4The water-tank was resting on the images of the 12 bulls. 3 bulls looked north, 3 bulls looked west, 3 bulls looked south and 3 bulls looked east. The water-tank rested on their backs. 5The water-tank was one handbreadth thick. Its rim was like the rim of a cup and looked like a flower. The water-tank could hold 3 000 baths of water. 6Solomon made 10 smaller basins, 5 on the right hand side of the water-tank and 5 on the left hand side. The priests had to wash the tools that they used for the burnt-offering in these basins. The priests washed themselves in the big water-tank.
7Solomon also made golden lamp-stands like the Lord told him to do. He put the lamp-stands inside the temple, 5 on the right hand side and 5 on the left hand side. 8He made 10 tables and he put them inside the temple, 5 on the right hand side and 5 on the left hand side. He also made 100 golden bowls. 9He built walls and made 2 courtyards, one where the priests came together and a big courtyard where the other Israelites could come together. There were doors in the walls and he covered the doors with bronze. 10He put the water-tank on the right hand side, south-east of the temple.
11Huram made pots, shovels and bowls and he finished the work that he had to do for King Solomon at the temple. 12He made 2 pillars, the bowls and the beautiful tops on the pillars, the chains that covered the bowls on top of the 2 beautiful tops, 13400 bronze pomegranates for the chains, 2 rows of pomegranates on each chain that covered the bowls on top of the pillars, 14the basins on the stands, the water-tank, 15the 12 bulls under the water-tank, 16the pots, the shovels, the forks and all the other tools. Huram was a very good artisan and he made all these things for King Solomon to use in the temple. He made them all from bronze that shone a lot. 17The king told them to melt all the bronze in the clay between the town of Sukkoth and Zarethan. 18Solomon made all these things. There was so much bronze that they could not weigh it.
19Solomon also told them to make everything that he wanted to put in the temple. There was the golden altar, the tables for the sacrificial bread, 20the lamp-stands and the lamps that had to burn in the most_holy room of the temple. Solomon made everything from pure gold. 21The flowers, the lamps and the tongs, everything was made of gold. 22The lamp-snuffers, bowls, pans and fire pans were also made of pure gold. The front door of the room, the doors inside to the most_holy room and the doors of the front room were also made of gold.
