Why does God think about worthless people?
Tell the leader of the choir to play the same music as the song about the wine-press. This is a Psalm of David.
1Lord our God,
your name is the most wonderful name on earth.
The sky above shows
that You are the King
who rules over everything.
2Even babies and small children
sing about your power so that
your enemies can not say anything,
and they have to keep quiet.
3When I look at the sky
that You made with your fingers,
I see the moon and the stars
that You put where they must be.
Then I think:
4Why do You think about people?
They are not worthy.
Why are people important to You?
Why do You care about them?
5You have made them
almost as important as the angels.
You have given them honour
and put crowns on their heads.
6You have told them to rule
over everything that You have made.
You appointed them
to be the head over all things,
7over the sheep and cattle,
over all the wild animals,
8over the birds in the sky and
over the fish in the water.
9Lord our God, your name
is the most wonderful name on earth.
