The Lord cares for people who live in the right way
This is a Psalm of David when he went to Abimelek and told him that he, David, was mad.
1I will always praise the Lord,
and I will keep on singing to Him.
2I will tell everyone
what the Lord has done.
People who can not help themselves
must listen and be happy.
3You must sing with me when we say
the Lord is great and wonderful,
and together we must praise his name.
4I asked the Lord to help me,
and He answered me.
I was afraid of many things,
but He saved me from everything.
5People who are humble and
ask Him for help will become happy,
and they will never be disappointed.
6I am a poor man but I prayed
to the Lord and He heard me.
He saved me from all my trouble.
7The angel of the Lord
protects the people who fear Him
and He saves them.
8You must feel and see
how good the Lord is.
He will bless everyone who trusts in Him.
9You who belong to the Lord
must fear and serve Him
because the people who serve Him
always have everything they need.
10Lions don't always get
enough food to eat,
and sometimes they go hungry,
but people who ask the Lord
what to do
have all they need.
11Come children, come and listen to me.
I want to teach you how to serve the Lord.
12What must you do
if you want to love life
and have many happy days?
13You must not say bad things
about other people and you must not tell any lies.
14Turn away from things that are bad
and do only things that are good.
Always try to make peace.
15The Lord looks at people
who live in the right way, and He cares for them.
He listens to them when they pray
and ask Him for help.
16The Lord doesn't like people
who do what is wrong.
He will make them disappear
and no one will remember them.
17When people who live in the right way
pray and ask God to help them,
He listens and saves them
from all their trouble.
18The Lord is near people
who are sad and humble,
and He saves people
who are broken and discouraged.
19People who live in the right way
also have a lot of trouble,
but the Lord saves them
from each problem.
20The Lord cares for people
who live in the right way.
He will protect all their bones so that
not one of them will be broken.
21People who live sinfully
will die because they do wrong.
They hate people who live in the right way
and God will say they are guilty.
22The Lord saves the lives
of people who serve Him,
and people who trust in Him will not be guilty.
