Who may go up onto the mountain of the Lord?
This is a Psalm of David.
1The earth and everything on it
belongs to the Lord,
and all the people in the world too,
2because the Lord has built
the earth on the water,
and He made the earth stand
on the rivers and deep water.
3Who may go
onto the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy temple?
4Only people who are pure,
people who don't do things that are wrong
and who don't serve_idols,
and people who always do what they have promised.
5The Lord will bless
good people who are like that.
God, their Saviour,
will say that they are righteous and He will reward them.
6This is what God will do for people
who worship the God_of_Jacob,
people who ask Him for what He wants. Selah
7Gates, you must open wide,
and doors that are very old,
you must open wider,
because the King of kings
wants to come in.
8Who is this King of kings?
He is the Lord who is strong
and who will defeat all,
God, who always wins in war.
9Gates, you must open wide,
and doors that are very old,
you must open wider,
because the King of kings
wants to come in.
10Who is this King of kings?
The God, who rules over all,
is the King of kings. Selah
