Exodus 38
The burnt-offering altar
1Bezalel made a burnt-offering altar from acacia wood. It was square, 5 cubits long and 5 cubits wide, and it was 3 cubits high. 2He made horns on the 4 corners. The altar and the horns were all one piece of wood. Bezalel covered the altar and horns with bronze. 3He also made everything that had to be with the altar: the pots, the shovels for the coals, the basins and the bowls. He made them all from bronze.
4He made a net from bronze around the altar. The net was as high as half of the altar. 5He made 4 rings and he fastened them to the 4 corners of the net. There was a ring on each corner and then he put carrying poles through the rings. 6He made the carrying poles from acacia wood and he covered the poles with bronze. 7He put the carrying poles in the rings on the sides of the altar for when they wanted to carry the altar. He made the altar from boards. The altar was like an empty box.
The big wash basin
8Bezalel made a wash basin and a stand from bronze. He made it from bronze mirrors. He got the mirrors from the women who worked at the entrance of the tent of the Lord.
The courtyard around the tent of the Lord
9-11Bezalel made curtains for the courtyard around the tent of the Lord. He made the curtains from good linen for the southern and northern parts of the tent. The curtains for each side were 100 cubits wide. He hung the curtains on 20 poles with 20 bronze stands. He made hooks and silver rings to hang the curtains. 12On the western side the curtains were 50 cubits wide and there were 10 poles with 10 stands. He used hooks and silver rings to hang the curtains. 13The front, the eastern side, was 50 cubits wide. 14On one side of the door the curtains were 15 cubits wide and there were 3 poles with 3 stands. 15On the other side of the door the curtains were also 15 cubits wide and there were 3 poles with 3 stands. 16He made all the curtains around the courtyard from good linen. 17He made the stands for the poles from bronze and he made the hooks and rings of the poles from silver. He covered the tops of the poles with silver and there were silver rings on all the poles around the courtyard. 18He used blue, purple and red wool material and good linen to make the curtain at the door. The curtain was 20 cubits long and 5 cubits high, the same as the curtains around the courtyard. 19There were 4 poles and 4 bronze stands and silver hooks. He covered the tops of the poles and the rings with silver. 20He made all the pegs around the tent of the Lord and the courtyard from bronze.
Everything that they used to make the tent of the Lord
21Here is a list of everything that they used to make the tent of the Lord where they kept the 10 commandments. Moses said Ithamar, the son of the priest Aaron, must tell the Levites to write down everything that the artisans used. 22Bezalel was the son of Uri and Uri was the son of Hur. Bezalel came from the Judah tribe. Bezalel made everything that the Lord told Moses. 23Oholiab worked with him. Oholiab was the son of Ahisamak from the Dan tribe. He was a carpenter and he could draw plans and weave blue, purple and red wool material and linen. 24They used 29 talents and 730 temple-shekels of gold to do all the work at the tent of the Lord. 25They got the silver when they counted the Israelites. It was 100 talents and 1 775 shekels of silver. They had to be temple-shekels.
26Every man who was 20 years old or older had to give a half shekel in temple money, and there were 603 550 men. 27The artisans used 100 talents of silver to make the stands for the tent of the Lord and the stands for the curtains. They made 100 stands and they used one talent of silver for each stand. 28There were 1 775 temple-shekels of silver left over and they used it to make the hooks for the poles. They covered the tops of the poles with silver and tied them together. 29They had 70 talents and 2 400 shekels of bronze which the people had brought. 30They used it to make the stands for the poles at the entrance of the tent where the 10 commandments were, to make the bronze_altar and the bronze nets that were around the altar, and everything that was for the altar. 31They also used it to make the stands for the poles around the courtyard, the stands at the door of the courtyard and all the pegs of the tent of the Lord, and for the curtains around the courtyard.
