SAKARIYA 8:19SSO89SOBula ka mmadi wa Bibele

Somewhere along the coastline of California, cedars from Lebanon grow amidst the cliffs. Somehow, a seed found its way into the rock crevice and the mysterious power of growth sent it through the crevice until it found the sun and light, and grew to become a tree. Such is the power of a single seed of godly truth.

A person confessing to be a Christian believer should understand that the Spirit of truth lives in him and that lies cannot co-exist with truth. No wonder that the Bible advises us to speak and live in truth. “These are the things you should do, speak the truth to each other and render true and sound judgement in your courts. Therefore love truth and peace.” (Zechariah 8:16,19)

Truth makes a way for itself – it needs no defending. Furthermore, when it is our 24/7 Companion who brings about truth in our lives and affirms that truth, it breaks through rock to get to the sun and light.

The Bible takes such a serious view on speaking the truth that an incident was written down in the Bible to serve as a warning to us. A couple told a blatant lie concerning the amount of money they gave to welfare and they both died instantly (Acts 5). Peter has the following to say, “You have not lied to men but to God.” (Acts 5:4)

Genuineness lies at the root of what you say when you speak truth. Nobody needs to guess what you really mean; it is not “yes” and “no” at the same time and the truth is not twisted.

If you live truth, it means you are honest and sincere. It is almost like an anagram: read it from left to right, from top to bottom and you still read the same thing. It does not matter from what angle, in what light or from which direction you look at the believer, your life ought to be above suspicion. This is only possible when we are implanted and grow from the Truth and Light. This will empower us to direct others effectively to the way of truth.
