What was intended to be a relaxing afternoon out with their dogs, ended in tragedy when a Cape Town couple was attacked by a swarm of bees in the Macassar area. The man was stung 50 times and when he started to swell and struggled to breathe, his daughter loaded him into the car and rushed him to the hospital.
The traffic on their way to Somerset West, was very slow and the man’s distress increased. The daughter stopped by traffic police at a roadblock and asked them for help. When they saw her dad, some of them immediately jumped into their cars, escorting her with sirens and lights to the hospital. Her dad’s life was spared and he is still recovering.
In our lives, we also experience challenges from time to time. It may occur in the workplace, at home, with our health, in a relationship or even with our finances. Crisis situations cause stress and, at times, make it hard for us to breathe properly. The more we stress about it, the worse it seems to get.
However, God knows about every crisis and we can ask Him for help. In Psalm 91:1,11,15 we read, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty … For He will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways … He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him.” And in 1 Peter 5:7 we read, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
What are your concerns or challenges today? Let’s “stop” and ask God for help and let’s trust Him even when nothing makes sense. He can help and sometimes use strange or unexpected people (and even angels) to “escort” us out of the crisis and bring us quicker to our destination and breakthrough. God bless you.
Assignment for the day: Make a list of everything that you are concerned about. Speak to God about it – and leave it with Him. Whenever you become stressed again, start worshipping Him for what He is about to do in your life.
