“Chosen” in the New Testament

The concept of being “chosen” occurs in two different ways in the New Testament:

Firstly, concerning Jesus. He is said to be God’s chosen Son and he has a special role to fulfil.
Secondly, concerning the faithful. They have been chosen to belong to Jesus.
