Let us sing to the Lord
1Come, let us sing to the Lord.
Let us rejoice to honour the Rock,
the One who always saves us.
2Let us come and thank Him.
Let us sing songs and praise Him.
3Because the Lord, the great God,
is the Great_King over all the gods.
4He rules over the deep places
under the earth and
the highest places on the mountains.
5The sea belongs to Him, because He made it,
and He made the land with his hands.
6Come, let us bow down and worship Him.
Let us kneel before Him because
He is the One who made us.
7He is our God and we are his people.
He is our Shepherd and we are his sheep.
You must listen to Him today.
8He talks to us and says:
‘Don't be stubborn like you were at Meribah.
Don't do what your forefathers
did in the desert at Massah.
9Your forefathers tested Me there.
They saw what I had done but they
wanted to see if I would punish them.
10I was angry with that generation for 40 years.
I said: “These people
are unfaithful to Me.
They don't understand or do what I want.”
11I was angry and I said:
“As sure as I live,
they will not come into the land
where I wanted to take them to rest.” ’
