*Psalms 82
Please judge the people of the world
This is a Psalm of Asaph.
1God went to sit on his throne
where all the gods were together.
He, the Judge,
told the gods what He had decided.
2He asked them:
‘How long are you going to be unfair?
Why do you say that bad people
are good and innocent?’ Selah
3He said: ‘You must defend orphans
and people who are weak,
and help the people who are suffering
and have no money.
4Help the people who are weak
and have nothing,
and save them from sinful and cruel people.
5But you don't know anything,
and you don't understand.
You do only things that are bad,
things that people do in the darkness.
That is why everyone becomes worse
and the world comes to its end.
6I said: “You are gods,
messengers of the Most High God.”
7But now I say:
“You will die like people,
and you will stop living like rulers on earth.” ’
8O God, please judge everyone in the world
because all the nations belong to You.
