*Psalms 3

₁Lord, I have many enemies,

and lots of people have turned_against me.

₂Many people say:

‘God will not save him.’ Selah

₃But, Lord, You are my Shield,

You give me honour and courage,

and You lift up my head.

₄When I call out to God,

He answers me

from his holy_mountain. Selah

₅I can lie down, sleep and wake up

because the Lord gives me strength

and He protects me.

₆I will not be afraid if 10s of thousands

of soldiers attack me.

₇I will say: ‘Lord, come and help me.

My God, please save me.

I ask this because You have

beaten my enemies on their jaws,

and You have broken the teeth of the sinners.

₈It is only the Lord who can help.

You will save and bless your people.’ Selah
