People who believe in the Lord will not lose
This is a Psalm of David.
1Lord, I pray to you, and only to You.
2My God, I trust in You.
Please do not let me lose to my enemies,
and do not let them defeat me
and rejoice because I am suffering.
3A person who believes in You
will never be ashamed,
but people who don't do
what You want them to do
will be ashamed and defeated.
4Lord, please tell me
what You want me to do,
and teach me how You want me to live.
5Teach me to live in the right way
like You want me to live,
because You are the God who saves me.
I will always trust in You and know
that it is only You who can help me.
6Lord, please remember how,
from long ago, You have always shown me
your love and mercy.
7Lord, please don't remember
the sins that I did
when I was young and rebellious,
but remember your love to me
because You are good.
8The Lord is good and always right.
He teaches sinners how they should live.
9He shows poor and humble people
how to live and teaches them
what He wants them to do.
10The Lord is always faithful
and He loves those who
obey his laws and his covenant.
11Lord, please forgive my sins.
They are many,
but do it because I belong to You
and You are my God.
12If people want to serve the Lord,
He will teach them how to live.
13People who believe in Him
will always enjoy a good life,
and their descendants
will inherit the land.
14The Lord tells the people
who serve Him
what He has decided.
He tells them what his covenant means.
15Every day I wait
for the Lord to help me,
because He will save me.
He will take me out of any trap
that is there to catch me.
16Lord, please look at me
and have mercy on me.
I am alone and I can not save myself.
17I am worried,
and my troubles have become
too much for me.
Please help me and save me.
18Look how I am suffering
and please forgive all my sins.
19See how many enemies I have
and how much they hate me.
20Please protect me and save me.
I trust in You. Please don't let me lose
and be ashamed.
21I pray that You will help me
to stay good and honest. Yes,
I believe that You will help me.
22O God, please free the Israelites
from all of their troubles and suffering.
