Lord, please help the king defeat his enemies
This is a Psalm for the leader of the choir, a Psalm of David.
1I pray that the Lord will answer you
when you are in trouble.
I pray that the name of
the God_of_Jacob will protect you.
2I pray that He will send someone
from the temple to help you.
I pray that He will come
from Mount_Zion to be with you.
3I pray that He will remember
all the burnt-offerings
that you have sacrificed
and that He will accept them. Selah
4I pray that He will give you
what you want and that He will
make all your plans succeed.
5Then, we will rejoice
when He saves you and you win the war.
We will put up our flags
and praise the Lord.
I pray that the Lord will give you
everything that you ask for.
6Now I know that the Lord
always helps his anointed servant,
and He always answers him
from his holy heaven.
He gives him strength to win his wars.
7Some people think that
war-chariots will help them win,
and other people think
that men on horses can help them win,
but we know that it is
the Lord our God who helps us,
and we trust in Him.
8Those people fall down,
and they are defeated,
but we stand upright and win.
9Lord, please help the king
defeat his enemies.
