We see your wisdom in everything that You have made
1I praise the Lord with all my heart.
Lord my God, You are great.
You are the King and
everyone around You respects
and praises You.
2There is light shining around You,
and You wear the light like a robe.
You made the sky like a tent.
3You built the foundation
of your home above the clouds.
You ride on the clouds and
on the wings of the wind.
4You send the winds to be your messengers,
and the lightning works for You.
5You made the earth and put it
in its place so that it will never tremble.
6You covered the earth with the big sea,
and the water flowed over the mountains.
7But You told the water to go back,
and when the water heard the noise
of the thunder, it fled.
8The mountains went up higher
and the valleys went down to the place
where You told them to go.
9You told the water
where the borders of the land are
and You told the water not to go over
those borders and cover the earth again.
10You made fountains to give water
in the valleys and to flow
from the mountains.
11All the wild animals
come to drink the water.
The wild donkeys go there
when they are thirsty.
12The birds come and make
their nests above the water.
They sit on the branches and sing.
13You give water to the mountains
from your home in heaven.
You give the earth more than enough
of everything that is good.
14You make the grass grow
for the cattle to eat and
You give plants that
people can plant for food.
15You give them wine to
make them happy and olive oil for their faces,
and bread to make them strong.
16You give the trees enough water,
and You give rain to the cedar trees that You
have planted on Mount Lebanon.
17The birds make their nests in the trees,
and the storks build their nests in the fir trees.
18The high mountains are home
to the wild goats,
and the rocks are hiding places for the rock-rabbits.
19You made the moon to tell us
what time of the month it is
and when it is time to celebrate.
The sun always knows when
to come up and when to go down.
20You make the darkness come
and then it is night,
and then all the wild animals come
out of the forest.
21The lions roar and find something
to catch. They ask God for their food.
22When the sun comes up,
they go back and lie down
in the places where they sleep.
23Then man goes to work,
and he works until evening.
24Lord, You have made a lot of things,
and we can see your wisdom
in all the things that You have made.
The earth is full of animals
and everything that You have made.
25Look at the sea.
It is big and wide,
and there are many fish
and big and small animals
that swim in the sea.
26There are sailing boats and
the Leviathan that You made to play with.
27All of these animals
are waiting for You to give them food
at the right time.
28When You give them
their food, they eat it,
and when You open your hand,
You give them more than enough.
29When You look away,
they become afraid,
and when You take away their breath,
they die and they become dust again.
30The breath that You give
makes them live, and that is
how You give new life to the earth.
31We pray that the Lord will always
be King and that You will always
be happy and pleased with the things
that You have made.
32When You look at the earth, it trembles,
and when You touch the mountains,
smoke comes out of them.
33I will sing to the Lord for as long as I live,
and I will praise You all my life.
34I pray that God will like
the things that I think.
I am happy because I belong to Him.
35I pray that sinners will disappear
from the earth and that there will
be no more people who do wrong.
I will praise the Lord with all my heart.
You must also praise the Lord.
