Show me that You will be good to me
This is a prayer of David.
1Lord, please listen to me
and answer me,
because I am poor and I can not help myself.
2Please protect my life
because I believe in You.
Please save me.
I am your servant and I trust in You
because You are my God.
3My Lord, please be gracious to me
because I pray to You all day
and ask You to help me.
4Please make me happy because
I am your servant and I give my life
to You and worship You.
5Because You are very good to me, my Lord,
and You forgive my sins.
You give your love that never changes
to everyone who prays to You.
6Lord, please listen to my prayer,
and please give me your grace when I beg You.
7When I have lots of troubles,
I pray to You, because I know
that You will answer me.
8There is no one like You.
Not one of the gods is like You.
There is no one who can do what You do.
9All the nations will come
and bow down before You.
You have made them and they will
glorify and honour your Name.
10Because You are great
and You do miracles.
Only You are God.
11Lord, please teach me
how You want me to live,
and then I will obey You and do things
that will show your truth.
12Lord, my God, I will thank You
with all my heart,
and I will glorify and honour your name forever.
13Because your love for me is very great,
and You have saved me from
the grave and the underworld.
14O God, proud people have come to attack me,
and cruel people want to kill me.
They don't believe in You or respect You.
15But You, my Lord,
are a God who is good to people
who suffer and You are merciful.
You are very patient and your
love for us never changes.
You are always faithful.
16Please look at me and be gracious to me.
Make me strong and save my life.
I have belonged to You from the time
that I was born.
17Please show me that
You will be good to me,
so that the people who hate me
will become ashamed
when they see that You have
helped me and comforted me.
