God is the Judge
Tell the leader of the choir to play the same music as the song: ‘Do not destroy’. This song is a Psalm of Asaph.
1O God, we thank You.
We thank You because You are with us.
Everyone talks about the miracles
that You have done.
2God says: ‘When the time comes
that I have decided,
I will judge the people fairly.
3When the earth and everything
on earth melts and trembles,
it is I who hold the pillars
of the earth so that they don't fall down. Selah
4I told the proud people
and those who do wrong:
“Don't boast.”
I told the sinful people:
“Don't think you are strong.
5Don't think you are
strong enough
to fight against God in heaven,
and don't boast or be stubborn.” ’
6Because no one can make you important,
no one in the East or West,
or in the desert.
7It is God who judges people.
He shows some people that
they are not important and
He makes other people important.
8The Lord holds a cup in his hand.
In this cup is wine with foam
and there are very strong herbs in it.
God pours this cup of wine
and He gives it to those who do wrong.
They will have to drink it all,
until the cup is empty.
This is how God will punish sinners.
9I will always talk about
the God_of_Jacob and the things
that He did. I will sing and praise Him.
10He says: ‘I will take away
all the power of sinful people,
but I will show that
people who live in the right way
are strong and important.’
