Trust only in God
Tell the leader of the choir to play the same music as the song: ‘Jeduthun’. This is a Psalm of David.
1I wait patiently for God to help me.
He is the only One who can save me.
2Only He is my Rock and my Saviour.
He protects me,
and my enemies can not defeat me.
3I say to my enemies:
‘How long do you want
to attack me and try to kill me?’
I am like a wall that will
fall over if someone pushes it.
4There is only one thing that
my enemies want to do.
They want to humiliate me.
They love to tell lies.
They say they want to bless me,
but in their hearts they curse me. Selah
5I find rest and peace with God.
He is the only One who gives me hope.
6Only He is my Rock and my Saviour.
He protects me,
and my enemies can not defeat me.
7It is God who will save me
and give me honour.
He is my strong Rock,
and He will protect me.
8My people, you must always
trust in God and believe
that He will help you.
Tell Him how you feel
deep down in your heart.
He will protect us. Selah
9People are like a breath of wind.
They don't live long.
If you put their lives on a balance-scale,
you will see that they weigh nothing.
All of them together
weigh less than the wind.
10Don't trust in the power of people
or try to oppress them,
and don't think that it will help you to rob them.
Don't think you will become happy
if you are rich.
11God has said this and
I have heard it again and again.
He said that He is the only One
who has power,
and you can trust only in Him.
12Lord, You said that
You are faithful, because
You will reward each person
for the things that he has done.
