*Psalms 27

₁The Lord is my Light.

He is the One who saves me.

That is why I fear no one.

The Lord protects my life,

and that is why I am not afraid of anyone.

₂When sinful people come to attack me,

when my enemies want to kill me,

they are the ones who stumble and fall.

₃If an army of soldiers comes

to attack me, I will not fear.

If my enemies come to start a war_against me,

I will still trust in the Lord for help.

₄There is one thing that

I have asked of the Lord and

it is what I really want.

I want to live in his house forever,

to see his wonderful love and

to ask Him what He wants me to do.

₅Because He will protect me

when danger comes,

and He will hide me safely in his holy tent,

so I will be as safe as someone

standing high on a rock.

₆I will defeat

all my enemies who are around me.

I will rejoice and bring offerings

to his temple,

and I will sing and make music

to the Lord.

₇Lord, please listen when I pray to You.

Please have mercy on me

and answer me.

₈You told us to come and worship You,

and that is why I have come to serve You.

₉Please don't go away from me,

and don't be angry and send me away.

I am your servant.

You have always helped me,

so please don't leave me now.

You are the God who saves me.

₁₀Even if my father and mother leave me,

the Lord will never leave me.

He will keep me with Him.

₁₁Lord, please teach me

how You want me to live,

and lead me to a safe road,

because I have many enemies.

₁₂Please do not give me to my enemies.

They tell lies about me,

and they want to attack and kill me.

₁₃But I believe that You

will save me and I will see

your loving goodness in this_life.

₁₄Wait for the Lord.

Believe in Him and be strong,

and He will give you courage.

Wait for the Lord.
