Elihu speaks for the 3rd time
1Elihu spoke again. He said:
2‘Job, do you think that God will be fair
if He says that you are innocent?
No, He won't.
3You have asked God:
“What will You do to help me?
Does it help me that I have never sinned?”
4I will answer you
and your friends too.
5Look up at the sky.
Look at all the clouds high above you.
6If you sin, it does not hurt God.
Even if your sins are too many to count,
it does nothing to God.
7And if you are good and righteous,
that does not help God either.
He does not get anything from you.
8If you do something wrong,
it is people who suffer,
people like you.
And if you do good,
you are helping other people.
9If someone oppresses other people,
they cry and ask for help.
They call someone and ask him
to help them with the people
who are stronger than they are.
10They don't ask God to help them,
but He is the One who has made them
and makes them sing at night,
even if it is dark.
11God teaches us more than the animals.
He makes us wiser than the birds
and we understand better than they do.
12That is why He does not
help sinners when they cry
and ask someone to help them.
It is because they are proud and bad.
13It does not help them to cry and shout,
because the Almighty God does not listen to them.
14Job, God will also not listen to you.
He will listen even less if you say
that you can not see Him
and that you have complained to Him
but that you have to wait patiently
for Him to answer you.
15You also say that God does not
punish people if He is angry with them,
and that He does not care
if people sin or not.
16Job, you say things that are not_true.
You talk and talk, but you don't know
what you are saying.’
