There is a time for everything
1There is a time for everything,
and all things in this world happen at the right time.
2There is a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to pull out the plants.
3There is a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to break down and a time to build.
4There is a time to cry and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance.
5There is a time to throw away stones
and a time to pick them up,
a time to hug someone and a time to say goodbye.
6There is a time to look for things
and a time to lose them,
a time to care for something
and a time to throw it away.
7There is a time to tear things
and a time to sew them together,
a time to keep quiet and a time to talk.
8There is a time to love and a time to hate,
a time to go to war
and a time to make peace.
9What does it help someone
if he has worked hard?
It does not help him.
10I saw the hard work
that God gave people to do.
11God made everything beautiful
and at the right time.
He made us wonder how long time will go on,
but people can not understand
the things that God has done,
from the beginning to the end.
12Now I know that it is best for someone
to be happy and to enjoy life while he lives.
13People can eat and drink and enjoy life
after they have worked hard.
I know that this is a gift that God gives to people.
14I know that everything God has made
will always be there.
People can not make something more
and they can not take anything away from it.
God made everything
so that everyone should respect Him.
15The things that are there now have been there before,
and things that will happen later are already here.
God makes the same things happen again and again.
16I have seen in this world
that people do wrong when they should do right
and should be fair.
17I thought that God would judge
the people who are righteous
and also the people who do wrong.
God will judge all of them because He has decided
there is a right time for everything
to happen and a time to do it.
People are the same as animals. They are not different
18I thought that God wanted to test people and show them that they are like animals, 19because the same things happen to people and to animals. People die and animals also die. Everyone must breathe. People are no different from animals because nothing is as it should be. 20Everyone dies and goes to the same place. Everything is dust and everything becomes dust again. 21No one knows if people's spirits go up to heaven when they die and if animals' spirits go down into the earth. 22I saw that it is best for people to enjoy their work. That is their reward. Who can show us what will happen after we are gone?
