Satan

In the New Testament, Satan refers to a supernatural person who is God’s most important adversary, and who is responsible for the evil in the world. He is the leader of the angels who rebelled against God. Another name for Satan is “the devil”.

In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word satan still has the general meaning of “adversary”.
