Abba

Abba is an Aramaic word which means “father”. It is a form of address for the father in a family. For Christians, Abba is also a form of address for God.

The New Testament tells Christians that they may address God as Abba:

Abba as a form of address ties in with the image of God as father, but it is a much more personal and intimate way of addressing God than people were used to at the time.
