Enoch
Enoch is a descendant of Adam. He lives in such a close relationship with God that he does not die in the normal way, but is taken away by God.
The Name Enoch
The name Enoch means “the devoted one”, derived from the Hebrew word for “devotion”.
Enoch is a seventh-generation descendant of Adam
Another man named Enoch is listed as a son of Cain. According to this list, Cain names him, and also the city he builds, Enoch (Genesis 4:17-18
Taken away by God
In the list of the descendants of Adam, Enoch occupies a special place. He lived for “only” 365 years, whereas most of his ancestors were much older when they died. Furthermore, in his life he had a deep fellowship with God (Genesis 5:24
The strangest thing about Enoch is his death. Traditionally, he is thought not to have died in the normal way, but to have been dramatically taken away by God (Sirach 44:16

There are three Jewish manuscripts with visions which are attributed to Enoch (Jude 1:14
Fragments of 1 Enoch were discovered in the caves of XtopicX_197_Qumran, but the whole book is preserved only in an Ethiopic translation.
