Strength For Today – Day 15

₁₄For this reason I fall on my knees before the Father, ₁₅from whom every family in heaven and on earth receives its true name. ₁₆I ask God from the wealth of his glory to give you power through his Spirit to be strong in your inner selves, ₁₇and I pray that Christ will make his home in your hearts through faith. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love, ₁₈so that you, together with all God's people, may have the power to understand how broad and long, how high and deep, is Christ's love. ₁₉Yes, may you come to know his love — although it can never be fully known — and so be completely filled with the very nature of God.

₂₀To him who by means of his power working in us is able to do so much more than we can ever ask for, or even think of: ₂₁to God be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus for all time, for ever and ever! Amen.

₄May you always be joyful in your union with the Lord. I say it again: rejoice!

₅Show a gentle attitude towards everyone. The Lord is coming soon. ₆Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. ₇And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.

₈In conclusion, my brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honourable. ₉Put into practice what you learnt and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you.

₁₄But as for you, continue in the truths that you were taught and firmly believe. You know who your teachers were, ₁₅and you remember that ever since you were a child, you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. ₁₆All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living, ₁₇so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.
